Powers School District #31

PHS Carnival 2023

SUPERINTENDENT'S CORNER

April 4, 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As I am sure you are aware, we have had several days this past winter that were impacted by weather. We lost several hours of classroom instruction time and, while we have some extra hours built into the calendar, we are now in the position of having to make up some of those lost hours. This spring we are going to implement a recovery plan to work in our required number of instruction hours.

Starting on Monday, April 17th , and continuing until May 11th , the elementary school will shift to a different schedule. School will start at the same time, but we will have later dismissal times on Monday through Thursday.

1st , 2nd and 3rd Grade will dismiss at 3:15

4th , 5th and 6th Grade will dismiss at 3:30

Friday schedule will remain the same.

Pre-K and 6th Grade graduation will be on June 7th and the last day for students will be on June 8th .

We will return to our normal schedule on May 15th , assuming we are done with snow days.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Matt Shorb
